Next Level Invitational

registration update

Lamarr Smith - Tuesday, June 08, 2010
Good evening everyone!

Some updates and clarifications are in order:

1. There will be a max participation of 16 athletes per gym. 8 Men and 8 Women. This doesn't mean every gym gets 16 athlete slots, it means that a gym can register a max of 16 athletes.
2. There cannot be more than 6 athletes, from any one gym, in a single division. If you decide to register 6 Advanced women form your gym, you have 10 slots left to fill the 5 remaining divisions (adv m, intermediate m and f, masters m and f)
3. There is a ceiling on maximum competitors that we can handle. Once that maximum is reached, registration will cease and there will be no more available slots. What this means is REGISTER EARLY! We'll do our best to accommodate as many athletes as possible, but plan to register early to avoid problems.

We will be in contact. Have a great day, and train hard!

Welcome to the Next Level Invitational Series

Lamarr Smith - Monday, June 07, 2010

Welcome to the Next Level Invitational Series.  This series will be held over the course of 9 months.  The kickoff date is August 14 2010.  The subsequent dates are December 4 2010 and the championship date will be April 9 2011.  Our goal is to produce high quality events and to continuously solidify our position that CrossFit is the best way to determine overall physical fitness as defined by increased work capacity across broad time and modal domains.

1 day

3 events

3 divisions advanced/ intermediate / masters (45+ yrs old)

Here is a brief overview (updated as of May 8, 2010):

  1. Cap entries per gym @ 16 competitors total.  Male competitors = 8 max / Female competitors = 8 max.  No more than 6 slots in any ONE division. So one gym can't have 10 advanced male athletes competing.
  2. Total male/ female advanced competitors = 50 each
  3. Total male/ female intermediate competitors= 60 each
  4. Total male/ female masters competitors = 15 each
  5. Early Registration will open on July 1 2010 @ 12pm and close July 16 2010 @ 12am
  6. Individual Competitor registration fee = $40 before July 16 2010 @ 12am.  After July 16 12am and before July 25 2010 12am registration fee = $50.
  7. Team registration fee = $50.  Team entries accepted for advanced and intermediate divisions only
  8. Registration fee includes full day of competition, a competitor bag filled with the series t-shirt, water bottle, and competitor wrists bands plus other goodies from our participating sponsor.
  9. To ensure quality control we strongly suggest each affiliate hold a tryout.  This tryout will help eliminate range of motion issues and athletes not quite ready to compete.
  10. All competitors must complete division qualification form for verification of division placing.  This sheet will be available for download before registration opens. Go to    http://www.crossfitnlp.com/_blog/Next_Level_Invitational
  11. For every 4 competitors registered by an affiliate, one volunteer must also register from the same affiliate.  Example: If a gym has 12 athletes competing, they would also register 3 volunteers.  If this affiliate has qualified judges, then they can also be counted as volunteers.
  12. Qualified Judges are needed.  Judges must be Level 1 certified with experience coaching in an active affiliate.  The application will be available for download @ http://www.crossfitnlp.com/_blog/Next_Level_Invitational.  This is the most important position of the entire event.  We must maintain quality in order to build the sports reputation.  It is up to us to step up and create the baseline for all other events to look up to.
